In certain cases, when a drive is used in an area susceptible to strong electromagnetic noise, the content of its EEPROM memory can be altered.

In order to avoid this issue, the EEPROM memory can be write-protected after downloading the setup table and / or the TML application. This is done in EasyMotion Studio II by selecting Communication | EEPROM write protection | Enable. Any attempt to write data into a write-protected EEPROM will fail, including any accidental write commands generated by strong electromagnetic noise.

The EEPROM write-protection in EasyMotion Studio or EasySetUp can be found under Communication | EEPROM write protection | Write protect entire EEPROM after download.

The SAVE TML instruction (copy the parameters of the drive from RAM to EEPROM) will temporarily disable the EEPROM write protection, save the setup data and then re-enable the EEPROM write protection.
